Iconeek is proud to introduce here a new old stock, limited edition, ceramic automatic chronograph ’s wristwatch: The Fliegeruhr Chronograph « The Last Flight »

With a militaristic style, this special aviator’s wristwatch is part of a special series called « The Last Flight », composed of ref. IW38800S, in ceramic and platinum, limited edition of 17 pieces, ref. IW388006, in ceramic and red gold, limited edition of 170 pieces, and Ref. IW388004, such as the present watch, in ceramic and titanium, limited edition of 1700 pieces. All three models bear the « A » of Antoine de Saint-Exupery at 9 on the dial. The famous pilot and author Antoine de Saint-Exupéry disappeared over the Mediterranean on his last reconnaissance flight for the Free French Air Force in July 1944.  In 2004, the debris of the plane were found.  IWC commemorates 70 years since the last flight of the celebrated French aristocrat, writer, poet, and pioneering aviator with this limited edition of its signature Pilot’s Watch model.  The water-resistant to 60 meters, the 46 mm case is matte finished brown ceramic case made from silicon nitride. The screwed case back, the ushers and screwed crown are made of titanium.

Under the sapphire crystal, a superb brown « tabacco » dial, with with a very fine sunray finish,  recessed guilloche black subsidiary dials for the constant second with date at 6 and the concentric 12-hour and 60-minute registers. This nice watch is powered by a caliber  89361, beating at 28,800 vph, with 38 jewels. The watch has an approximate power reserve of 68 hours. The case back of the watch is engraved with a special image which commemorates the 70th anniversary of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s last flight « 1944/2014 ».  In 2015/2016, the retail price was 13’900.- CHF. Dial, case and movement are signed. The watch comes with a mint brown leather strap with an IWC steel deployant clasp.
